Saboodana Tikki Recipe



A simple delicious Saboodana Tikki recipe is liked by your family members at any time of the day.  It is also usually eaten during any kind of fast (vrat) such as Navratri, Mahashivratri, Janmashtami or Ganesh Chaturthi etc. It’s an Indian snack for fasting.

Prep Time 3-4 Hrs
Cooking time 15-20 min


INGREDIENTS:

Saboodana (Tapioca Pearls) 1/2 cup
Boiled and mashed Potato 1
Chopped Green Chilli 1
Roasted Peanuts 2 tbsp
Raisins 2 tbsp
Almonds (boiled and skin peeled) 2 tbsp
Cumin powder ½ tbsp
Amchur (Dry Mango Powder) ¼ tbsp
Rock Salt (Sendha Nnamak) to taste
Oil for frying


Method:

Step 1
Soak the saboodana for1- 2 hrs. or overnight according to your saboodana type.

Step 2
Wash the saboodana well in running water till all the starch is washed off. Drain in a strainer and set aside for some time, so all the water drain away.

Step 3
Boil the potato and keep it aside to cool, after that mash the potato and add the soaked saboodana and the other remaining ingredients and mix it well together.

Step 4
Divide the mixture into medium sized patties and keep it aside.

Step 5
Heat oil in a non-stick pan and place the tikkis on it  and cook it on both the side till it becomes crisp and golden brown on both the sides.

Step 6
Serve your yummy Saboodana Tikki with Dhaniya Pudina Chutney.


Note:

If there is no fasting you can add onion and garlic also.
