Christmas, a Christian holiday respects the birthday of Jesus Christ, who is the great founder of the Christian faith, comes on 25th of December. Christmas developed over 2 millennia into an all over world religious and secular celebration, incorporating with many pre-Christian, heathen traditions into the celebration along the way. Today, Christmas is a time for family members and friends to get together and exchange gifts.

The most famous festivals of Christians is celebrated every year on 25th December in remembrance of the birth of Jesus Christ. December is considered an awesome season of goodwill and cheer. So Christmas is welcomed with special merriment and rejoicing all over. On 24 December, Christians celebrate the Christmas Eve & there is a nightly prayer meeting in the cathedral, which runs until 12 o'clock in the night. At 12 o'clock, people celebrate Christmas with their loved ones and celebrate happiness. It is an opportunity for cheerful family and relatives gatherings and festivities. Christmas has always been a time of family get-together. Today it is additionally a children’s celebration. They sing Christmas carols in reminiscence of Christ’s birth.

One of the great attractions of the Christmas festival is ‘Christmas tree’. Christmas tree has a special significance on Christmas Eve. Together with faith, beliefs of health and prosperity are also linked. The most elegant Christmas preparations before December 25, there is also a Christmas tree decoration. All the children and the elderly gather in the Christmas tree decoration. On these trees candles, toffees and the fine variety of cakes are tied to ribbons and paper straps. On this day Christmas tree is planted in the courtyard of the house. A cake has special significance in the Christmas festival. On this day people congratulate the festival by offering cakes to each other. Cakes, Muffins, Brownies,Milkshakes etc. these are the sweet dishes which is also prepared and offered by peoples in this occasion. By making the form of Santa Claus, the person divides toffee gifts to children.

Today, Christmas isn't just a celebration of the Christians, but, in a few places, Christmas is additionally celebrated by Non-Christians and share the happiness & merriment of the Christians.
