बुद्ध पूर्णिमा के दिन अनेक प्रकार के समारोह आयोजित किए जाते हैं। अलग-अलग देशों में वहां के रीति-रिवाजों और संस्कृति के अनुसार समारोह आयोजित होते हैं। दुनिया भर में फैले बौद्ध अनुयायी इसे अपने अपने तरीके से मनाते हैं। इस लेख में हम आपको इस दिन से जुड़ी 10 रोचक बातों के बारे में जानकारी दे रहें है।



10 रोचक बातें बुद्ध पूर्णिमा के दिन-


1. श्रीलंका में बुद्ध पूर्णिमा के दिन को "वेसाक" उत्सव के नाम से जाना जाता है। यह शब्द वैशाख शब्द का अपभ्रंश है।

2. श्रीलंका में बुद्ध पूर्णिमा को काफी हद तक भारत की दीपावली की तरह मनाया जाता है । इस दिन बौद्ध घरों में दीपक जलाए जाते हैं और फूलों से घरों को सजाया जाता है।

3. दुनियाभर से बौद्ध धर्म के अनुयायी बोधगया आते हैं और प्रार्थनाएँ करते हैं।

4. बुद्ध पूर्णिमा के दिन दिल्ली संग्रहालय बुद्ध की अस्थियों को बाहर निकालता है जिससे कि बौद्ध धर्मावलंबी वहां आकर प्रार्थना कर सकें।

5. बुद्ध पूर्णिमा के दिन बोधिवृक्ष की पूजा की जाती है। उसकी शाखाओं पर हार व रंगीन पताकाएँ सजाई जाती हैं। जड़ों में दूध व सुगंधित पानी डाला जाता है। वृक्ष के आसपास दीपक जलाए जाते हैं। बोधिवृक्ष बिहार के गया जिले में बोधगया स्थित महाबोधि मंदिर में है। वास्तव में यह एक पीपल का पेड़ है। मान्यता है कि इसी पेड़ के नीचे ईसा पूर्व 531 में भगवान बुद्ध को बोध यानी ज्ञान प्राप्त हुआ था।




6. इस दिन बौद्ध धर्म के धर्मग्रंथों का निरंतर पाठ किया जाता है।

7. मंदिरों व घरों में अगरबत्ती लगाई जाती है। मूर्ति पर फल-फूल चढ़ाए जाते हैं और दीपक जलाकर पूजा की जाती है।

8. इस दिन मांसाहार का परहेज होता है क्योंकि बुद्ध पशु हिंसा के विरोधी थे।

9. कुछ लोग बुद्ध पूर्णिमा के दिन, पक्षियों को पिंजरे से मुक्त कर खुले आकाश में छोड़ देते है।

वैशाख मास की पूर्णिमा को मनाई जाने वाली बुद्ध पूर्णिमा को वैशाख पूर्णिमा के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। इस दिन का काफी महत्व है क्योंकि इस दिन गौतम बुद्ध की जयंती और उनका निर्वाण दिवस भी है। जी हाँ, यह भी कहा जाता है कि इस दिन भगवान बुद्ध को बुद्धत्व की प्राप्ति हुई थी। बौद्ध धर्म के अनुयायियों के लिए यह महत्वपूर्ण दिन है और इस दिन को वह बड़ी धूमधाम से मनाते हैं।


भगवान बुद्ध केवल बौद्ध धर्म के अनुयायियों के लिये आराध्य नहीं है बल्कि हिन्दू धर्मावलंबियों के लिए बुद्ध विष्णु के नौवें अवतार हैं और हिन्दुओं के लिए भी यह दिन पवित्र माना जाता है। इस साल यह 18 मई 2019 को मनाई जाएगी। साथ ही इस वर्ष बुद्ध पूर्णिमा के दिन समसप्तक राजयोग बन रहा है। क्योंकि इस दिन देव गुरु बृहस्पति व नवग्रहों के राजा सूर्यदेव आमने-सामने रहेंगे। इस योग में सभी कार्यों में स्थायित्व के साथ प्रगति मिलती है।


पूरी दुनिया में महात्मा बुद्ध को सत्य की खोज के लिये जाना जाता है। सच को जानने के लिये सिद्धार्थ ने अपना राजसी ठाठ बाट को छोड़ दिया। गृहत्याग के पश्चात सिद्धार्थ सात वर्षों तक वन में भटकते रहे और उन्होंने कठोर तपस्या करी। अंततः वैशाख पूर्णिमा तिथि को वर्षों वन में भटकने व कठोर तपस्या करने के पश्चात बोधगया में बोधिवृक्ष के नीचे बुद्ध को सत्य का ज्ञान  हुआ। यह कह सकते हैं कि उन्हें बुद्धत्व ज्ञान की प्राप्ति भी वैशाख पूर्णिमा को हुई। तभी से यह दिन बुद्ध पूर्णिमा के रूप में जाना जाता है। इसी के साथ इस दिन बोधिवृक्ष की पूजा की जाती है और उसकी शाखाओं पर हार व रंगीन पताकाएँ सजाई जाती हैं।  



भगवान बुद्ध बौद्ध धर्म के संस्थापक थे। बौध धर्म को मानने वाले भगवान बुद्ध के उपदेशों का पालन करते हैं। भगवान बुद्ध का पहला उपदेश ‘धर्मचक्र प्रवर्तन' के नाम से जाना जाता है। यह पहला उपदेश भगवान बुद्ध ने आषाढ़ पूर्णिमा के दिन पांच भिक्षुओं को दिया था।



बुद्ध पूर्णिमा की मान्यताएं- 

बताया जाता है कि इस दिन भगवान विष्णु ने अपना 9वां अवतार लिया था। ये अवतार भगवान बुद्ध के नाम से लोकप्रिय है। कहते हैं कि बुद्ध पूर्णिमा के दिन लिया स्नान कई जन्मों के पापों का नाश करता है।


इसी दिन को सत्य विनायक पूर्णिमा के तौर पर भी मनाया जाता है। मान्यता है कि भगवान कृष्ण के बचपन के दोस्त सुदामा गरीबी के दिनों में उनसे मिलने पहुंचे। इसी दौरान जब दोनों दोस्त साथ बैठे थे, तो कृष्ण ने सुदामा को सत्यविनायक व्रत का विधान बताया था। सुदामा ने इस व्रत को विधिवत किया और उनकी गरीबी नष्ट हो गई।


इस दिन धर्मराज की पूजा करने की भी मान्यता है। कहते हैं कि सत्यविनायक व्रत से धर्मराज खुश होते हैं। माना जाता है कि धर्मराज मृत्यु के देवता हैं इसलिए उनके प्रसन्‍न होने से अकाल मौत का ड़र कम हो जाता है।


हिंदू मान्‍यता के अनुसार बुद्ध पूर्णिमा के दिन पांच या सात ब्राह्मणों को मीठे तिल दान करने चाहिए। ऐसा करने से पापों का नाश होता है।


  मान्‍यता तो यह भी है कि बुद्ध पूर्णिमा के दिन अगर एक समय भोजन करके पूर्णिमा, चंद्रमा या सत्यनारायण का व्रत किया जाए, तो जीवन में कोई कष्‍ट नहीं होता।
